LSFA FOOTBALL PROGRAM OVERVIEW
NFL Flag Football League: We offer co-ed 7v7 flag football for Pre-K through 7th Grade (ages 5 thru 13). Coaches focus on offense and defense schemes in addition to teaching fundamental skills and rules. Flag football games provide the competitive environment to help solidify the teachings. The flag program is designed to facilitate a successful transition into the tackle program if pursued.
Tackle Football League: We offer Tackle football for Kindergarten through 7th Grade (ages 5 thru 13). Athletes in this league will be taught skills ranging from the most basic to complex offensive and defensive strategies. Safety is a top priority with the Lee’s Summit Football Association (LSFA) and teachings will mandate that proper fundamentals and techniques are used to support safe game play. Safe game play is further enhanced by LSFA’s best in class facilities and league provided equipment. Skills learned in this league will support future success at higher levels.
LSFA is a participating program in the Kansas City Youth Football League (KCYFL). Competing against other teams within the KCYFL allows LSFA teams to have diverse competition against teams of similar experience levels.
7v7 Football League: is designed to provide a unique and competitive experience for young athletes. The program will focus on developing players' skills and knowledge of the game while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship with a high level of competition.
The 7v7 program is a fast-paced, high-intensity version of football that focuses on passing and catching skills for receivers and quarterbacks and more closely resembles tackle football with defensive back coverage and contact. It is intended to offer the youth athletes in our community and surrounding communities a program to compete at a higher level and further develop their football skills during the tackle football off-season.
FALL FOOTBALL PROGRAMS
Fall football is comprised of two Leagues: NFL Flag and Tackle. School boundaries are used to form teams whenever possible to assist with fostering lasting relationships and graduating into the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District’s (LSR-7) football programs. Practices for both leagues begin in the month of August. A minimum of 6 weekend games are provided with the potential of playing additional games in the championship playoffs. Gameplay concludes in late October/early November. In partnership with the Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation and the LSR-7 School District, high quality practice and game facilities are provided for all teams.
SPRING FOOTBALL PROGRAMS
Spring football is comprised of NFL Flag & 7V7. These athletes begin practice in the month of March and compete in games which occur from late March to late May. The Spring League is designed to allow an athlete to enhance and develop skills (passing, receiving, defending, etc.) for the fall season; rather than focusing on specific plays or formations. Flag football games help solidify the learned skills.
